George Kahumoku Jr

Concert Hawaiian Slack Key Master

Saturday, July 25, 2026
7:30 PM

George Kahumoku Jr. delivers an intimate performance singing traditional and original Hawaiian melodies with his 12-string slack key guitar. Known for his “talking story” style, he weaves together hilarious personal anecdotes and ancestral history, transforming each concert into a warm cultural journey. His music and stories are rooted in his life as a farmer and teacher and the sharing of aloha.

In 2003, he launched The Slack Key Show: Masters of Hawaiian Music, the only long-running concert series dedicated to showcasing the great slack key artists of today. Now based in Santa Cruz County, California, George continues to tour the mainland twice a year alongside fellow Hawaiian music legends.

Each June on Maui, he leads George Kahumoku Jr.’s Annual Slack Key Guitar & ‘Ukulele Workshop—a week-long immersion in Hawaiian music and culture.
