Tell Me Who from The Flying Salvias on Vimeo.
The music of The Flying Salvias is what happens after banging it out for decades with other like-minded bandmates and performers, famous and not, standing on everything from arena stages to pool tables to church altars to bar stages (so many bars) to driveways to flatbed trucks, through country, blues, rock, folk, gospel, jump swing, jazz (smooth and crunchy) heavy metal, and various combinations thereof.
Tonight’s program will offer two unique sets celebrating two brand new albums of original tunes which amply illustrate their dedication to straying over borders and defying genre. Set one will feature the album, “Henry’s Hideaway” which offers a 50’s supper club jazzish vibe featuring vocals, piano, bass, drums and percussion. “Amerikinda” released in tandem with this concert, offers everything else and will be played in its entirety in the second set. Joining Henry and Kathleen for set one will be Paul Olguin, Ken Owen, and John Pearson; set two will include additions Sean Allen, Keta Bill, Loralee Christensen, David Golia (switching with Paul Olguin), and David Phillips.
