Windy Hill is keeper of the bluegrass flame on the West Coast. formed in 2008 by a couple of high school friends from Silicon Valley, the group has transformed over the years into a top-notch bluegrass band. While the group has dug deeper into the history of bluegrass music than many of their peers, they have maintained one foot in the modern sensibility, writing their own songs, with their own point of view, and in their own voices. Three-part harmony, lonesome duets, banjo breakdowns, honky-tonk sorrow, blues mandolin, and original material all combine to create their vision for bluegrass music and its future. They’ve won numerous awards, toured all over the western states, and have released four albums, “Live from The Ratz Nest” (June 2018), “Bluegrass Sounds from California (2017), “The Lonesome Garbage Man” (2013), and “Let’s Go To The Fair” (2011).
